Shipment out for delivery: Explained

The “Shipment Out for delivery” status means that the order was processed successfully and being sent out of warehouses to be on the way of delivery to reach the final destinations and the customer is expected to receive it in several days in general.
Beside the shipment out for deliver, there are lots of delivery statuses that should be discussed as below

1. CASES OF DELIVERY STATUS

1.1. Shipment out for delivery

Also shown as “will be delivered in the upcoming days” or “out for delivery”, this status means that your package has reached the final destination and your customer is expected to receive the package in a few days, either from the delivery person or pick it up at a nearby pick-up point without any potential trouble.

1.2. Failed attempt or Exception

“Failed attempt” or “Exception” means there is something wrong with the shipment process due to unwanted reasons and the shipping time has been prolonged.

In cases of international shipment, customs clearance is the main part of the whole shipping process. Reasons leading to failed customs clearance might be one of the followings:

  • Prohibited, controlled or restricted items.
  • Unpaid customs fees.
  • Incorrect/missing invoice.

In such cases, you need to work with the customs. Once those issues are resolved, you should be able to find the delivery status has changed into “Released by customs” or such. In worst cases, your package will be held/retained by customs and your customers will never receive it.

This could also be due to the shipping company, in which the shipping address/phone number/receiver name is not correct so the company could not contact your customer or nobody is at home.

In rarer cases, some shipping companies do not work on weekends so they will redeliver the package on weekdays.
