Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get paid?

ShopBase Payments transfers funds to the bank account you have entered on the Payment providers page in your ShopBase admin.

Are there any processing limits?

There's no limit to the amount you can accept each month or per transaction through ShopBase Payments, and your funds will be transferred to your bank account on the same schedule, regardless of volume.

What is "Network Card fee"?

Network Card fee is a payment processing fee structure that standardizes the commissions collected by card issuers such as Visa and Mastercard. The amount varies based on card type, the customer's issuing bank, merchant location, and other parameters.

Can I refund a chargeback?

Yes, but you shouldn't. A chargeback happens when the credit card networks refund a charge at your expense. Since the credit card network refunds the customer directly, you shouldn't refund disputed charges manually.

Are there certain businesses that are prohibited from using ShopBase Payments?

ShopBase includes secure, unlimited eCommerce hosting on all plans, so the answer is no, you don't need a web host.

Can a refund be canceled?

No. After you've issued a refund, it can't be canceled. If the card that you have refunded is expired or canceled, the customer's new card will be credited with the refund. In the rare case that the customer doesn't have a new card, the bank will usually send the refund to the customer's bank account.
